dangers (and hope!)

The Bible warns Christians of the danger of drifting away from God (1 Tim 1:19; Mark 4:1-20). It can be subtle at first, but weeks later you can find yourself a long way from God, and with a hard heart that couldn't care less.

So, Christians must read the Bible themselves and speak to God in prayer about it. They should also encourage and support others by making use of the online ‘Zoom’ meetings while meeting in person to do so isn't an option.

However, as we do meet online, we will (and should) grieve the loss of something that we perhaps too easily take for granted - being together as the Lord’s people.

So, for now, let’s imagine how good it will be- and how much more we will value for the rest of our lives - being together in person, as the redeemed people of God, bought with the blood of the Lord Jesus. Why? Because every time we gather, it is a taste of the great day...the day when we, the Lord’s people, will be with our God in Heaven.

I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling-place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

Rev 21:1-3
