Grace Church Wakefield runs a number of events throughout the year. We do this to serve the community in different ways and to help us to get to know the people in it better!
On Sunday 12 January we'll be having a 'cafe-style' service where we'll be exploring the question "God, why all the pain?".
The question of why suffering exists is a big question and one that many struggle with. We hope to be able to shed a little light on the answer by seeing what the Bible has to say in a relaxed and informal setting.
Bring yourself and your questions along to Jubilee Hall at 10.30am, or 10am if you'd like some breakfast too. We look forward to seeing you there!
December fun 2019
In December 2019, we had plenty of Christmas events planned for all. First up was our Christmas party on Sunday 1st December followed by our annual Carols by Candlelight on the 15th December. Finally, we had an Impromptu Nativity on the 22nd of December where kids showed up, dressed up and got involved with no rehearsals needed!
Family Fun Day 2019
Our 2019 annual Family Fun Day was a great time - we saw lots of familiar faces and new ones too!
We enjoyed plenty of fun and games, a BBQ and face painting as well.
Thanks to all who came along and joined us this year!
Church day out 2019
We had a church day out at Springhead Park on 13 July. We enjoyed a picnic and games under the sun and finished off the day with fish and chips.
The weather was perfect for a day out as a church family and we enjoyed the company of a few visitors too!
'Epic Explorers' Holiday Club 2019
For three days during the Easter period we ran a holiday club in Jubilee Hall. We had a great group of kids join us for fun, games, crafts and exciting Bible stories about Jesus' life, death and resurrection.
Parents joined a group in the café on-site for the first two sessions and for the third, children, parents and the church all came together for a special Easter Sunday service and Epic Explorers mash-up!
Christmas carol service 2019
At Christmas-time we held a carol service at a candle-lit Jubilee Hall.
We invited members of the community along to sing carols and enjoy home-made minced pies and sausage rolls with us.
There was something for everyone and plenty of Christmas snacks to go around!
Family Fun Day 2018
In the summer we turned Jubilee Hall's car park into a fun packed mini fair!
Children enjoyed face painting, sweet stalls, a craft corner, hot dogs and plenty of games.
It was a great fun packed event for local families.
