A day we all look forward to!

Our away day was an extremely blessed and fruitful day for the GCW family and friends! For the second time running we had the privilege of being hosted outside on a beautiful private property in the village of Mar.

We started the day the best way - with a bacon/sausage sandwich and coffee, whilst we had time to catch up with one another and just enjoy our surroundings, this included admiring some lovely fluffy chickens!

The team all worked together to provide our food and refreshments throughout the day as well as provision for the toddlers and primary aged children during the 3 talks, which were extremely thought provoking and very well worded! We are so thankful for Warren Fawcett from Grace Church Catterick and the time he took to provide us some delightful spiritual food.

On that note I'd love to share some of what I took away from these. We were looking mostly in Marks gospel, in chapter 2 we looked at the healing of a paralyzed man and the faith of his friends to get him to Jesus. The focus of this message was about our faith; this was somewhat challenging because truth be told there are many things in my life which I just don’t pray for due to a thought process of “there’s nothing else can be done”. I was very encouraged to remember that with God all things are possible and I should have faith that He can move in any circumstance and I should be giving all my worries over to him, not just

the ones I can see a solution to!

I must not forget to mention the great British weather, which made its appearance in the form of torrential rain on and off for most of the day! Though the Lord allowed us a dry patch during some of our free time which meant the bouncy castle and tree house were put to good use. The children also led by example and we all followed suit - so there was much fun still had in the rain, even a bit of wet cricket and frisbee! We did have a large, covered area also where we also enjoyed some lively games of pool and table football!

I really felt the echo of Acts 2:42 and as the Psalmist proclaims, oh how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! (Ps 133:1)

The day was rounded up by an extremely tasty BBQ which provided more great time for fellowship and prayer, I think I speak for all of us when I say we didn't want the day to end and could have easily continued our time together into the night! I really felt the echo of Acts

2:42 and as the Psalmist proclaims, oh how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity. (Ps 133:1)

These away days are extremely encouraging to us and are a great way to connect deeper with one another! I certainly can't wait to have our next one booked in!
